Spigariello Kale

This Italian heirloom's nutrient-packed, blue-green leaves are big on flavor and can be eaten raw or cooked.

We choose this heirloom broccoli-kale hybrid for its tender, sweet leaves - even as they grow larger, they stay flavorful and tasty. The flat, velvety leaves are used in everything from soups to stir frys. Plants left in your farm long enough might form small flowers that are pretty and perfectly delicious both raw and cooked.

Harvesting tips

Plant Spigariello anywhere on your farm and harvest leaves as you wish or harvest whole plant when the leaves reach your perfect size. Harvest when most leaves are 3-5" for tender baby leaves, at 6-8"  for medium leaves that can stand up to gentle heat, or at 8-10" for large leaves with a more intense flavor that are sturdy enough for stir frying and sauteing.
