    overall

the seedlings that I got first time around were great and grew well, though I think it is too warm for the cauliflower or broccoli to actually fruit - I am still holding on. salad related greens did marvelously

    Love my new Nook!

I don't have a green thumb but was intrigued by this system. I've had it just over a month and have grown so much produce! Letuce, herbs and other greens have been effortless to grow. I just have to add water and nutrients once a week and adjust ph if needed. So simple! I've already ordered my second set of seedlings and am going to try growing tomatoes, cucumber and peppers. I live in a small condo and the lights are brighter than I expected so I picked up a metal framed 4 panel folding privacy screen from Ikea that has black cloth to put in front of it when I need to block some light. I ended up velcroing a cheap mylar emergency blanket to the side facing the plants to help reflect the lights and it has worked awesome! I also picked up the magnetic small fan you see and it magnets right to the frame to help give plants more airflow. I highly recommend the Nook! I'm finally growing plants instead of killing them for the first time in my life. And it's saving on my grocery bill :)
